Order of selection for 2010 Draft

The order for the 2010 MLB Draft is almost set, with only picks 18 and 20 up in the air pending the outcome of Tuesday night's tiebreaker game.



Order is determined by 2009 final regular-season records, with ties broken by previous year's record:

3. Baltimore Orioles

4. Kansas City Royals

5. Cleveland Indians

6. Arizona Diamondbacks

7. New York Mets

8. Houston Astros

9. San Diego Padres

10. Oakland Athletics

14B. Texas Rangers (for failing to sign Matt Purke)

15. Chicago Cubs

16. Tampa Bay Rays

18. Loser of Minnesota Twins vs. Detroit Tigers

19. Atlanta Braves

20. Winner of Minnesota Twins vs. Detroit Tigers

21. Texas Rangers

Toronto will receive compensatory picks 37B and 68B for failing to sign James Paxton and Jake Eliopoulos, respectively, as well as an extra pick after the third round for failing to sign Jake Barrett, giving the Blue Jays six picks before the fourth round unless they sign a Type A free agent.



Tampa Bay will receive compensatory pick 78B for failing to sign Kenny Diekroger.



The White Sox will receive an extra pick after the third round for failing to sign Bryan Morgado. The Angels will receive an extra pick after the third round for failing to sign Josh Spence, after the Blue Jays and White Sox receive their picks.
