I see the Giants offseason plan going like this:
Trades -
Sanchez is more likely the trade bait for a big bat. They'll look at teams looking to reduce payroll like the Marlins. Uggla and Cantu are both due big raises and are up for grabs. Giants have been interested in both players at one time. This could be the summer they pull the trigger.
Free Agency -
Bay and Holliday are the only two players that would make an impact. I'm pretty sure the big money teams are all in the running. Figgins would be nice but he's more of a leadoff than a run producer. I'd interested to see who gets non-tendered. Possible names to note: Garrett Atkins or Conner Jackson. They could take a gamble on someone like Adrian Beltre or Xavier Nady and sign them on a affordable contract.
Inhouse -
Besides raises for Lincecum, Wilson, and Sanchez, they want to bring back Freddy Sanchez. They'll offer Molina arbitration and offer a 1 year deal. More likely, he'll sign a multiple year deal with another team and the Giants get draft picks. Penny could come back for the right price. Bowker and Schierholtz need to learn better plate disipline to have a place on the team. It's no coincidence that the players (Posey, Crawford, Neal) were chosen for the Arizona Fall League. They all could fill a need on the Giants if they play well there.
