Since the Mets are dragging their feet on signing Molina, why not sign him and complete the lineup for 2010? Reasons below:
1. Allow Posey to develop under Decker's tuteledge in Fresno with calllups if needed during the 2010 season.
2. Put Molina in the six hole where a .275 20hr and 80 would be perfect.
3. Molina's experience with the rotation will provide a strong linkage to an already strong pitching staff. Can help break in the young
Bumgarten if he is the fifth starter.
4. Give the Giants four legitimate 20 home run hitters in the everyday lineup.
5. If the Giants are out of it by all star break, Molina would be a natural to trade to a contender needing a starting catcher and to bring up Posey in his place.
6. The option year, would be if Molina was able to learn how to play the first base position well enough to be considered a replacement for Huff after his year is up for 2011. If not, see ya.
