before being given the starting job. bottom line though is that the team in control of his contract doesn't think he's ready to catch full time at the major league level. we have to consider his arbitration eligibility here has well... pretty sure I read somewhere that if the giants had waited one week before bringing Timmy up, they wouldn't have to pay him the big $$ this season.

They could be thinking $4.5mil to Molina this year is going to save $6-8mil a few years down the road if Posey plays as well as projected.
