This was intended to be a rebuilding year, while the solid prospects they have drafted matriculate through the ranks. Who were they supposed to grab and dump a ton of $$ on from this free agent pool? The last mistakes they made were Rowand and Renteria and they didn't go down that path again. Good. It's too early to tell on Sanchez, and he has a short deal anyway.
