For me, it's not there. He's a nice player, and I'd love to have him on the Giants, but the risks outweigh the rewards in this case, and I think the Giants will see it the same way. Sure, you can say "Belt is just a prospect, and sometimes they don't pan out" all day long, but think about how many times in baseball prospects have been traded away for "proven commodities" only to see the "sure thing" tumble and the prospect bloom.
And when you introduce figures like 150+million into the conversation, you are talking about absolutely crippling the franchise should he not work out or fall off a wagon. This is why the weight is so important. When you spend franchise money you usually want better insurance then that.
