They won't cost a ton and will solidfy the lineup for a Playoff run. They will not cost any of the starting 5, which will allow the Giants to put together an awesome staff and a formidable lineup. The Giants have already proven, as currently constructed, that they can best staff aces. As evidenced by three wins over Oswalt, 7 runs in one inning against Jimenez, defeats over Wainwright & Halladay earlier in the yr & last night, meeting the challenge with Josh Johnson. This all bodes well for their chances to win the Division and make a deep Playoff run.

Cantu 1B/3B-- As we've seen he is horrible at 3B, so he probably becomes the everyday 1B for the Giants. He is also the youngest of this group and most likely to hit 15-20hrs w/ 100 rbi's, for a few more seasons, based on his career numbers. He probably slots 5th in the order and provides nice protection for Posey.

Bautista 3B/LF/1B-- Probably the most versatile option, but most likely to falter when leaving his former team. One thing that can be said is that he has put up these numbers in the AL East, the undisputable best division is baseball. He would also slot in to the 5th spot and maybe even 4th, if Posey has a day off.

Guillen LF-- The oldest of this bunch at 34 and probably just a rental.. Guillen has the most raw power and has had the best career of the trio but is likely nearing the end of his career. As also noted on the SFWorld board, his defense is suspect & is a head case of sorts. He most likely hits 5th or 6th in this lineup.

If these are the only realistic choices for the G's, based on what they'd have to give in return, I'd prefer Cantu just slightly over Bautista, but would not be disappointed with one over the other. However, I hope the G's steer clear of Guillen.

Out of these 3--Who is your choice??
