been given a decent opportunity to prove himself in the bigs since then.
Bowker was not horrible in the bigs since he reworked his plate discipline. JR Phillips had a huge year, but other than that your examples don't mean much. Bowker has put up better numbers across the board at a younger age than Damon Minor. Jesus Guzman can't play defense at all.
I'm not saying that Bowker is guaranteed to be a good hitter. I'm saying he has a chance. Anyway, we'll see how he does in Pitt.
