There is always risk with young players--always--but scouts and experts have gotten very good at predicting based on BB/K rates and other advanced stats who will be very good. That's how guys can predict that Posey is likely already one of the best hitters on the Giants before he proves himself. Major league track records count, but small sample sizes fool people.
